Meh, a bit of a downer ending: Catalina dies no matter what, the other cyborgs somehow seems to magically reappear?
I mean, the 1980 movie did the same with one of them, but there was a semi-plausible reason there.
Igarashi gets promoted on what merit, if everybody had forgotten the issues he reported and was still under the order of Emperor (or his minions)?
If 001 was stronger than Emperor (in his own admission), why does he get put in a blue sphere and can't do jack the whole climatic battle, other than providing some commentary?
Why didn't they use a weapon like Françoise bike that can disable 3 mechas in a blink before?
These and many other questions will remain unsolved 😔
